Dr. Laura Schlessinger, was one of the most influential talk-radio hosts in The United States America. She is no longer on the air and will allow her contract to expire because of pressure from her sponsors after she used the word nigger 11 times on her show.

I had never heard of Dr. Laura Schlessinger before her N-word controvercy, and I really do not understand what all the fuss is about. She used the word nigger 11 times. So what, she said herself you hear it on MTV and HBO all the time. Nigger is not a word I ever use, because I find the use of the word inapropriate and unnecessary. But there are may words that I do not use for these reasons. Why is the use of the word nigger such a big deal? There are a lot worse things that people say.

I have listened to the controversial show in it’s entierty and Dr. Laura Schlessinger’s show is reflects the opinions of many people across North America. Taking her off the air is not going to change the way these people think. It is too bad that Dr. Laura Schlessinger is off the air. It is better when people are able to freely voice their opinions no matter what they are.

Kitchen Sink Strategy Sinks Clinton

With an Obama win in North Carolina and only a 2 % loss in the Indiana primary the nominee for the Democratic Party is blatantly obvious. Barack Obama will be the Democratic Party Nominee and he will be the next president of the United States of America. There was a period of uncertainty after the Pennsylvania primary. Barack lost some of his magnetism, he didn’t perform well against Clinton in a debate, the controversy surrounding Reverend Jeremiah Wright took him off of his core message, and Clinton was in her best form yet.

It looked as if Clinton was in a position to win all of the next primaries by wide margins. Clinton herself asked, “Why can’t he close the deal?” She needs to now ask herself the same question. She was supposed to be the inevitable nominee. She has not lost, but she is not winning. Clinton is in great form and she will keep fighting. Although I am an Obama supporter, I want Clinton to stay in the race. She is giving Obama the preparation he needs to face the Republicans in November. Clinton’s kitchen sink strategy has been great for Obama. There will be nothing the Republicans can bring up that Obama has not already dealt with. The kitchen sink strategy is not helping Clinton win the nomination, but rather helping Obama win the Presidency.

There are enough white Americans who despise blacks so much they will do anything or say anything to tarnish the reputation of Barck Obama. It is unfortunate that in this age of political correctness people are no longer able to speak the truth. Since racist white people are not permitted to say they would not vote for a black man they have to invent other excuses. The Tennessee Republican Party released a press release on Monday February 25th showing a photo of Barack Obama in attire incorrectly termed “Muslim”. They also used his middle name throughout the article. They have not been the first organization to employ this smear tactic and they will not be the last.

Vicki Iseman Puts John McCain on the Defensive

Shortly after the New York Times broke the story of the alleged affair between Vicki Iseman and John McCain her biography was pulled from her employers website. Fortunately for us you cannot erase anything from the internet.

This is not a topic I care to discuss but it shows how easily the media can derail a presidential campaign by putting the candidate on the defensive and detracting from his message. Lets us hope that Barack Obama has nothing in his past that will draw this kind of criticism.

Senator Barack Obama has now had his 10^th consecutive win after the defeating Hillary Clinton in both the Hawaii caucus and the Wisconsin primary. His momentum now appears to be unstoppable. He has put a stop to the pressures of the Clinton machine. Ladies and gentlemen I believe we have our democratic nominee!

Obama Catchphrase Catches Attention

On the 16th of February 2008 Senator Barack Obama gave yet another inspirational speech. This speech however is attracting attention not for its uplifting message, but rather the words themselves. Governor Deval Patrick of Massachusetts used similar words during his 2006 campaign. During his speech Obama recited, “Don’t tell me words don’t matter, ‘I have a dream’ – just words?”

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton has continually criticized Senator Obama for using empty rhetoric rather than hard facts and is using this particular speech to further condemn Senator Obama. Clinton has previously stated, “Speeches don’t put food on the table.” she actually believes she is offering solutions rather than rhetoric.

Clinton is using the same tactics as Obama, just not as well. Offering a solution when you are not actually in power is nothing more than a speech or empty rhetoric. Clinton can offer as many “solutions” as she likes but her solutions as well as Obama’s rhetoric have to have to one day be passed into law. Clintons attacks do nothing more than destroy her own credibility. If Clinton would like attack Obama she should attack him by using facts, not just by using speeches filled with empty rhetoric.

Change is Coming to America

I read an article today about Cher starting a new show in Vegas in the spring. Cher is 61 and I am 35. It does not seem so far fetched to hope to have a show in Vegas by the time I am 61. Tina Turner recently performed at the Grammies and just last year Madonna signed one of the most lucrative recording contract of all time. I know that all of these women have been in the public eye for quite some time but I sense that things are changing. In the words of Barack Obama: change is coming to America! A black man and a white woman are the Democratic presidential candidates, female entertainers can still turn a profit well past 40. The Euro has surpassed the US dollar in value and the Canadian dollar and the US dollar are at par.

There is change coming, that is for certain. I am mot certain yet if should be happy about it or worried. Older more established artists are probably being given more promotion because new artists don’t sell. America has black man and a white woman as presidential candidates at a time when It will be very difficult for the next president to restore stability and prosperity. A low US dollar is great for shopping with Euros but not so great for Canadian and European exports to the United States.

Fortunately for me I am watching these changes unfold via Wolf Blitzer, Anderson Cooper, and the CNN website. America is not my home and never has been. Although I am completely fascinated with the United States I have never been all that interested in moving there. But if Barack Obama becomes president I would be a little more interested. A female leader is not so interesting for me. I’ve had Kim Campbell and now have Angela Merkel. Obama is interesting. I would like to live in a country with someone like Obama as president.
